Who We Are

Mission: To promote optimal child development by empowering families to be resilient and to foster positive family relationships.

Vision: A connected community in which children and families are nurtured and supported to be happy, healthy and productive.

Our Core Values:Families Matter is a   “yes ” organization that values: Respect, Self-Awareness, Responsiveness, Interdependence, Playfulness

Our Approach: We create learning opportunities where we can engage, instruct, role model and inspire people to live Seven Core Ways of Being:
  • Being Conscious
  • Being Committed
  • Being Competent
  • Being Confident
  • Being Caring
  • Being Connected
  • Being Cooperative
As these Seven Core Ways of Being are more consistently practiced, we build the skills of leadership and collaboration onto this foundation.  The result is increased effectiveness in several essential skills.

Our Programs

Families Matter is committed to strengthening families through life’s many transitions. One way we accomplish this mission is by scouring the seemingly infinite choices of programs, services and resources and selecting those we feel offer the very best learning opportunities and make them available to all Calgarians.
We also recognize that families come in many sizes, face many challenges and opportunities and span the full spectrum of life’s many stages and ages -- from babies to grandparents. To address these needs, we continuously develop our curriculum and add to our list of education partners.
