Who We Are

Babies’ Best Start operates through the Grande Prairie Friendship Centre.  It provides non judgmental support and education on pregnancy and parenting.
Babies' Best Start supports women to make healthy choices about
  • Nutrition
  • Breastfeeding
  • Stress reduction
  • Alcohol consumption
  • Prenatal support
  • Parenting programs
Babies’ Best Start works with public health nurses and dietitians in local communities to provide up-to-date information.

Our Programs

One to One Support provided by an Outreach Worker.

Babies’ Best Start may provide milk and vitamins to qualifying mothers during pregnancy and while breastfeeding.  They also provide connections to community services, free baby clothing, resource books & video lending library on topics related to pregnancy and parenting.
 ​
​Groups provide the opportunity for mothers to share their experiences.  The following groups may be available in your community:
  • Fresh Food Bags
  • Cooking Circles
  • Prenatal/Mothers’ Drop-in Groups
  • Breastfeeding Support Group
  • Collective Kitchens
