Early Childhood Healthy Opportunities (CAPC)

Serves: Lethbridge and surrounding areas

Who We Are

Parents as Teachers (PAT) is the most widely replicated evidence-based home visitation model in the world.  PAT is an innovative, evidence-based model using the best research available on child development to provide the information, support and encouragement parents need to help their children develop optimally during the crucial early years of life.

Research shows that in the first few years children learn more - and at a faster pace - than at any other time in life. The first three years are an especially crucial time for building the brain architecture that supports all future development and provides a foundation for success in school, work and relationships.

Parents, with the support of community programs and services, play a key role in launching their children on the road to success long before they ever sit in a classroom.

Parents as Teachers model-certified home visitors deliver four components of a cohesive package of services that are designed to identify and build on family strengths, capabilities and skills and build protective factors within the family.

Our Programs

Families receive:
• Personal visits customized to the needs of their family.
• Developmental screenings to make sure your child is healthy, safe and developing on track.
• Group connections to link you to other parents.
• Referrals to community resources.
• Timely and meaningful information and resources.
